We will always have strength, we will always have Paris, and we will always have the Tour de France racing to the finish on the Champs Élysée in July.

Our thoughts are with the victims and people of Paris.

Vive la France.

The founder of Velominati and curator of The Rules, Frank was born in the Dutch colonies of Minnesota. His boundless physical talents are carefully canceled out by his equally boundless enthusiasm for drinking. Coffee, beer, wine, if it’s in a container, he will enjoy it, a lot of it. He currently lives in Seattle. He loves riding in the rain and scheduling visits with the Man with the Hammer just to be reminded of the privilege it is to feel completely depleted. He holds down a technology job the description of which no-one really understands and his interests outside of Cycling and drinking are Cycling and drinking. As devoted aesthete, the only thing more important to him than riding a bike well is looking good doing it. Frank is co-author along with the other Keepers of the Cog of the popular book, The Rules, The Way of the Cycling Disciple and also writes a monthly column for the magazine, Cyclist. He is also currently working on the first follow-up to The Rules, tentatively entitled The Hardmen. Email him directly at rouleur@velominati.com.

  • Unfortunately I think we can expect to see lots more of this...

So called "Refugees" now flooding into Europe with little to no control or knowledge of who they are and what they represent.

I am glad that I live in Australia...where its quite difficult to just walk in ! But even our current PM is kowtowing in the interests of creating "Stronger Ties" to the likes of Germany and the other EU nations.

    Open borders !...nope...Fuck that !

  • I don't understand hate on such a level that causes people to commit such atrocities.

I don’t understand hate on such a level that causes people to commit such atrocities.

And nor will we ever understand or hope to change them....

Unfortunately if you look at the vast majority of the recent atrocities that have occurred in the Western World, have come from "Refugee's"... Other atrocities occur where people are able to move between countries easily, and where pockets of inhumanity exist.

I am not a radical by any notion, but the more of this stuff that occurs the harder it becomes to remain un-biased....which is a real shame...because I am just a normal bloke, and if I feel this way, there are a lot of others who do too.

  • @piwakawaka

I understand the intent, and appreciate that what you are saying should be the way of things. If only...!..

And I know its easy saying that when we sit in our safe little worlds....

Wasn't it John Lennon who asked the world to give peace a chance ?...Look where that got him...a bullet to the head from a crazy son of a bitch with a personal agenda and a gun....

There ARE borders, we have the greatest cycle spectacle's on earth that move's in and out of borders and get's enjoyed (or annoys) millions of people....if only we could all put down our weapons and pick up a bike !

I'm gonna continue with the cartoons, the absurdity of what we are fighting in the name of.

and what we are fighting for, the arms industry, the infrastructure industry, financial industry, the oil industry and the motherfuckers that own those companies...

Thats the way ! The world could do with more people like you that's for sure....

Love the cartoon...hits the nail on the head...Of the three, Mr Tickle would get my vote for something making the most sense.

What a load of crap. Lumping in millions of genuine people fleeing terror with a minority of radicals (funded and trained by the USA and UK) is what causes this misdirected fear. And that is what the radicals, and in the bigger picture the NWO, want. Division, fear, so more of our freedom can be taken away and we all just stay on the couch watching their propaganda like good little citizens.

Unfortunately, a lot of others do share your view, and that's more of a danger to Australian society than any refugees. Stop listening to Pauline Hanson and Tony Abbott and the Reclaim/UPF extremists, open your mind and your heart will follow.

Exactly. Unfortunately these fuckers have the majority of the population brainwashed and firmly in the palm of their grubby, blood-covered hands.

  • Banning refugees/closing borders is exactly the sort of knee-jerk xenophobic reaction that ISIS want to foment. Don't fall into their trap by blaming the people fleeing massive violence because one or two of terrorists used them as cover.

We won't sort out terrorism by treating people worse, that's for damn sure.
