We will always have strength, we will always have Paris, and we will always have the Tour de France racing to the finish on the Champs Élysée in July.

Our thoughts are with the victims and people of Paris.

Vive la France.

His boundless physical talents are carefully canceled out by his equally boundless enthusiasm for drinking. Coffee, beer, wine, if it’s in a container, he will enjoy it, a lot of it. He currently lives in Seattle. He loves riding in the rain and scheduling visits with the Man with the Hammer just to be reminded of the privilege it is to feel completely depleted. He holds down a technology job the description of which no-one really understands and his interests outside of Cycling and drinking are Cycling and drinking. As devoted aesthete, the only thing more important to him than riding a bike well is looking good doing it. Frank is co-author along with the other Keepers of the Cog of the popular book, The Rules, The Way of the Cycling Disciple and also writes a monthly column for the magazine, Cyclist. He is also currently working on the first follow-up to The Rules, tentatively entitled The Hardmen. Email him directly at rouleur@velominati.com.

  • It must have been all the editing of my abuse towards the Australian government I was doing...

I don’t understand hate on such a level that causes people to commit such atrocities.

And nor will we ever understand or hope to change them….

Unfortunately if you look at the vast majority of the recent atrocities that have occurred in the Western World, have come from “Refugee’s”… Other atrocities occur where people are able to move between countries easily, and where pockets of inhumanity exist.

I am not a radical by any notion, but the more of this stuff that occurs the harder it becomes to remain un-biased….which is a real shame…because I am just a normal bloke, and if I feel this way, there are a lot of others who do too.

    What a load of crap.

I don't feel it's a load of crap at all....Its easy to think your opinion is more valid than mine....but it doesn't make your opinion any more valid than mine.

    Anyway, happy cycling.

Its hard to back up an opinion...

Anyway, wasnt JFK proved to have been accidentally shot by one of the secret service bodyguards in the car behind him ?!

Banning refugees/closing borders is exactly the sort of knee-jerk xenophobic reaction that ISIS want to foment. Don’t fall into their trap by blaming the people fleeing massive violence because one or two of terrorists used them as cover.

We won’t sort out terrorism by treating people worse, that’s for damn sure.

You are right. I don't blame the people fleeing the violence..Its just that a lot of the refugees aren't fleeing violence at all, and are not from countries where the violence (in terms of Terrorism) is occurring.

Also, I am certainly not xenophobic...I have Muslim family members, and grew up in a Muslim country before coming to the great land of Australia.... Its the best country on earth, with well defined borders, and it deserves to remain so.

Don't know how to use google? Geez...

Declassified US Government report, 2012. I'll point you towards section 7 and 8.

    Media muzzled on said report.

There's plenty of other articles and videos if you care to look.

Australia is an embarrassment. Our human rights record and current actions are deplorable, and would be condemned en masse if they were being committed by a non-western country. The latent and blatant anti-Islam hysteria whipped up by Abbott has allowed the "typical Aussie" to vent their inherent xenophobia and racism with little consequence and dripping with rhetoric that is just hate speech cloaked in "patriotism".
