Velominati Super Prestige: Chrono des Nations Les Femmes 2015

This is it, people, the final event of the 2015 Velominati Super Prestige. Let’s start with pointing out that it is disgraceful how hard it is to find a start list, let alone photos from this event. Women’s Cycling is seriously under-promoted.

But let’s not let that get in the way of the fact that this event is going to be the deciding factor for who gets the Jaegher, the Café Roubaix wheels, or the V-Kit with the top five being separated by a mere 14 points:

2015 VSP G.C.

1. Minnesota Expat (169 points)
2. Steampunk (165 points)
3. Yagerbomb (157 points)
4. dancollins (156 points)
5. Two Ball Billy (155 points)

The top three could easily reshuffle, and with a stellar performance from @dancollins (a previous winner) or @Two Ball Billy, we could see them displacing someone from the podium.

Time to put your thinking caps on and get it done. No pressure.

  • Part Two. It said there was a size limit to posts? I know I'm wordy, but no more than 500-words?

    What a blast. I still can’t believe I managed to win this thing. I’m glad I played–because of the awesome prizes–but also because I learned a ton about the current men’s and women’s pro pelotons and it got me up early on a Sunday for some races and out for a ride!

  • Lastly, best of all was the trackstanding and cat & mouse action with @Steampunk @Yagerbomb @dancollins and many others on the way to the finish line. The chatter, the picks, talking smack, and changing picks, is the best part of all. Thanks for all your kind words and see you next year!

    @Yagerbomb

    What a finish. Congrats to @steampunk and @Minnesota Expat, very well deserved. @dancollins and @Two Ball Billy kept the race for third close to the very end, you guys had me biting my nails, chapeau! Thanks to the keepers for putting this on, and I can’t wait till next season.

    Not bad there yourself. With the timing working out the way it is, you even get to pick between the classic V-Kit and the VLVV kit:

    Take my money NOW !

  • @frank, both kits are great but I'm gonna go with the VLVV kit. It's sharp and simple, can't thank you guys enough for putting this all together.

    It's the strangely homoerotic side-view that reeled you in. Admit it.

    Holy hanging chads, Frankman.  Our messages crossed in the nethersphere.  No offense to MNexpat, but I regret this turn of events.  I know Steampunk. He has dined in my home.  And other than some missing silverware, I consider him a good friend.

    Then again, he would be a natural in the Al Gore role.

    Guilty as charged. That 45 degree angle pose was what sealed the deal.

    @1860

    Congrats to all including the rouge laterne @brett

    Damn, you noticed…

    Thanks to everyone who played this year, it was fun to watch even from two hours behind the peloton. Congrats to Steamy and Minny for the best finish since Bauer and Planckaert. Impressive picking, guys.

    Fuck, man. As a Canadian, that hurt doubly.

    Wow! Just wow. I'll say it again: for the silverware, I'd look no further than one of the little women in your home. I was framed. That said, I suspect Jaegher would have frowned on my requesting a 147cm frame to pay you back (that's a lot of steel). Now, that's an inconvenient truth.

  • Wow! Who would have predicted a photo finish? Crazy. Congrats to MN Expat and comiserations to Steamy. Thanks to the sponsors for making it such fun. FWIW I have no idea where I finished. Somewhere in the grupetto I suspect . . .
