Laurent Fignon - Giro
Ladies and gentlemen, prepare for the Giro, 2016, starting in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands and finishing in Torino, Italy. Here is a provisional start list. The riders make the race so it should be fantastic racing, a race up the whole of the country, for three weeks, what’s not to love? The Giro usually has a crazy stage and we are unsure what this year’s edition holds in that category, maybe more racing at night, or on dirt, bring it on. The Shark, Landa, Malmerde, Uran Uran, even Red Ryder, and more, each have a decent shot at the over all.
We all know the drill, this race starts on Friday so keep your delgado monkey on a tight leash. Consult your personal oracles; there are bike frames, carbon wheels, V-kit and more for the winners of the season-long overall VSP. Further details can be found on the VSP page. Bon chance.

I'll agree on this too. To say I pay scant attention to the ToC is an understatement. I thought the Giro was great with the old campaigners Nibali, Valverde, Cunego going for it, while young guns like Jungels, Brambilla and Chavez really stepped up. Fair play to His Nibs, he knew what hew had to do to win and did it on the last day. A worthy winner. Gutted for Stevie Shoulderpads as without that one lapse of judgement, I think he was at least the winner, if not the podium for sure. Nizzolo was deservedly DQ'd on the last stage - damn near put Modolo into the barriers. Looking forward to the Tour, but it'll have to go some to beat the Giro.

I'm with @Oli, the ToC didn't have me shouting at the TV, the Giro did.
Astana may be as morally corrupt as a Velominatus engaging in rest day swaps but Nibbles was awesome and you can't fault the dedication of the likes Scarponi; riding himself into a strong position on what what could be one of his last chances for home soil glory then sitting up to wait for his leader.
As much as I love cycling, I didn't watch any of the Tour of California. One can only watch so much cycling each day. I sadly didn't make the 1.5 hour trip to Winston-Salem this weekend either. Family in town for a visit and a serious sporting weekend on other fronts.

How many man hours did I spend this May watching the Giro? A fuck load and it was great. I know it will be more enjoyable than Phil Liggett and the TdF this July. My picks were very bad, again. Nibs in 5th place. I hate to bet for the logical choice.
Major carbone for this bike too...I'd ride a spesh if it was this one.

I concur, we had the added bonus down here of having Robbie Mcewen and Matt Keenan do the sole commentary, they did a great job from start to finish with no bullshit rehashed cliche's or suitcases of courage.

So, so so dreaming that Sagan will end up at Ettix. DAMN man, he'd write his name ALL OVER the Spring Classics with that squad!!!

Robbie McEwen would be a great commentator. The BEIN coverage had Daniel Loyd (sp?) and another English, both good. Both spoke Italian. One of the Garmin-Cannondale riders said the longer the race went on the more the team cars started to speak Italian instead of English.
Of course my prefered combo would be Sean Kelly and Magnus Backstead (sp?). Fucking Phil Ligget is a pain in the ass now. There. I said it. I hope you guys don't have to listen to his blather.

Dan Lloyd and Ned Boulting. That's who we had here in New Zealand too. Not too bad on the whole, although a bit prone to talk about stuff that wasn't happening at the expense of stuff that was.
