I cannot get excited about a world championship road race on a flat course. I get it, the sprinters need their moment too, but really, the desert, where most people would not know who Beryl Burton was…correction, where nobody knows who Beryl Burton was. Yeah, yeah, they have tons of money and would like their kids to ride bikes, I still think it is a fucked place to have the worlds. And yet, the riders make the race, not the course. Think of it as a flat Dutch race with cross winds, super hot cross winds.
All you kids get off of my lawn now.
Start list is here. Good luck and good betting.

so uhhh, handing out bottles is most exciting aspect of this event ? And then Miss Voss animates the front a bit. Hmmm, maybe could get interesting I suppose.
@Randy C
I thought the same thing. I really haven't watched women's races until this year but in the races I have seen they all sit in the bunch and wait for something to happen. Amber Neben was off the front solo today but that seemed to be the only "attack." The only "racing" seemed to take place inside the last 10K when the Dutch team formed an impressive lead out train.
Having said that, the finish was exciting, but sprint finishes always are. Dideriksen's closing speed was impressive and her reaction was priceless.
Lizzie got married.
I thoroughly enjoyed the bit I saw but that was the last 10k...
The Dutch train was impressive - Wild will be crushed she couldn't finish it off.
