Velominati Super Prestige: Ronde Van Vlaanderen 2015

As far as the Keepers are concerned (and those already arrived for KT15) the real race action on the cobbles and for the 2015 VSP starts right here in Flanders with the Easter Sunday edition of de Ronde van Vlaanderen.

And not only does the kassien bring out the big guns looking to pick up a Monument, it brings out the real big guns as far as the VSP Grand Prize goes too. We are proud and more than a little bit excited to announce Jaegher as the major sponsor of this year’s competition. Yes, the winner of the overall pointscore will receive a custom made and painted Interceptor frame in Columbus Spirit steel, just like the one that I am riding and loving right now… check it out here, it’s an amazing frame and one that you will treasure forever.

So now your picks count more than ever, study the start list, think which of the cobble specialists or maybe a wild card will win in Oudenaarde, and most importantly don’t Delgado.

Don't blame me

  • I do find it curious that they've waited till Sunday to race-test that new Pinarello. Why would Thomas want to use it when he seems to have been going well on the normal bike?

I'd rather have the Jaegher, though that should go without saying

  • Two ETixx lads in the final gambit. Having picked two, it means VanBergh will actually be involved...

    VSP PICKS:

    1. G. Thomas
    2. S. Vanmarcke
    3. N. Terpstra
    4. A. Kristoff
    5. Z. Stybar
  • I think it will be Sagan's day. Looking forward to this.

    VSP PICKS:

    1. Sagan
    2. Terpstra
    3. Thomas
    4. Van Avermaet
    5. Kristoff
  • So many good riders--even with the top dogs out of action.

    VSP PICKS:

    1. Stybar
    2. Van Avermaet
    3. Thomas
    4. Vanmarcke
    5. Roelandts
  • Pinarello says the new bike is 8% faster over the cobbles?  We shall see.  I'm pretty sure 8% is more than Cancellara got when he used that battery powered motor he had stuffed in his seat tube.

    VSP PICKS:

    1. Terpstra
    2. Stybar
    3. Thomas
    4. Van Avermaet
    5. Sagan
  • No doubt whatsoever in my mind...

    VSP PICKS:

    1. Degenkolb
    2. Thomas
    3. Kristoff
    4. Sagan
    5. Van Avermaet
  • Holy fuck, Phil! That hair, that cap, those shades! Those guns! That frame! Those bidon cages. So much to love in that photo.

Like a truly reformed raised-Catholic, I don't give a damn about Easter Sunday, but I do care about the Ronde.

I don't think we can overlook Kristoff, not with his form, not with Grandma Glasses leading him out. Terpstra, did he get pissed or stifled by his near miss? Stybar, hmm, seems to have the toughness and climbing legs form CX to do well here. Thomas, can a Welshman become a Lion? Sep, is he ready to reign or another near miss?

This is going to be awesome!

  • VSP PICKS:

    1. Terpstra, Niki
    2. Vanmarcke, Sep
    3. Thomas, Geraint
    4. Stybar, Zdenek
    5. Kristoff, Alexander
