Velominati Super Prestige: Ronde Van Vlaanderen 2015
As far as the Keepers are concerned (and those already arrived for KT15) the real race action on the cobbles and for the 2015 VSP starts right here in Flanders with the Easter Sunday edition of de Ronde van Vlaanderen.
And not only does the kassien bring out the big guns looking to pick up a Monument, it brings out the real big guns as far as the VSP Grand Prize goes too. We are proud and more than a little bit excited to announce Jaegher as the major sponsor of this year’s competition. Yes, the winner of the overall pointscore will receive a custom made and painted Interceptor frame in Columbus Spirit steel, just like the one that I am riding and loving right now… check it out here, it’s an amazing frame and one that you will treasure forever.
So now your picks count more than ever, study the start list, think which of the cobble specialists or maybe a wild card will win in Oudenaarde, and most importantly don’t Delgado.

Getting in early. Kristoff is on fire, Thomas is on good form, Vandenbergh will get in a good position to win and then blow it. Devolder to almost save face for Trek by getting in grasping distance of the podium in a tussle with Bak.

VSP PICKS:
Undecided about Thomas. He’s gone 2 or 3 races without crashing out, so surely he is due by now?

Etixx to finally prevail in in a two-on-one scenario, with Kristoff to despatch a resurgent Sagan in a small bunch sprint for the minor placings some way back. Or not.
VSP PICKS:
@Chris
I reckon that is going to break
VSP PICKS:
Putting Kristoff in there for a point, as he is going to win, but I don’t trust him for some reason – otherwise voting with my heart and not putting G in for the win, as he fell off every time I did that last year – any points available for Millions and Billions going off the front with 30km to go and dying terribly on the Paterberg before being swamped?
VSP PICKS:
So tough to call this one. All depends who is having a little luck. Have to be pulling for Sep though.

VSP PICKS:
Try again, after a coffee…

Once more with feeling

VSP PICKS:
Wow – that is some first price!
I’ve been talking down Sagan’s form (just like everyone else) and morale should be low in the team, but perhaps it finally frees Sagan up (mentally) to just go and ride. If so he’s as good a chance as anyone. Kristoff is good, but he won’t be able to ride with he front men having spent just one too many chips in the tt the other day.

I like Pinarello (ride one) and I am always curious about new technology but this does seem a high-risk approach for Wiggo considering its completely new and these two weekends are effectively his last ever pro road race. Is it better than the Domane or the Roubaix? The Look 695? The F8 for that matter?
Lets see….

VSP PICKS:
Etixx to continue their lousy tactical start to the season by blowing a 4 to 1 advantage and allowing paolini to break from the front in the last 3 km .
VSP PICKS:
VSP PICKS:
Placeholders to avoid a Delgado; I hope Gee can do it on his new bouncy bike, the rest I’m not so sure about.
That done, I’m off to race my bike in the rain.
VSP PICKS:
Proof that no-one actually reads the articles… We just said there’s a Jaegher frame for first prize! Geez…
VSP PICKS:
Who knows? Pulled some names from a hat, and I’d love G to win.
That Jaegher is a sweet first prize.
VSP PICKS:
VSP PICKS:
Here’s hoping – Sagan has got to give it maximum effort otherwise serious questions may be asked.
VSP PICKS:
VSP PICKS:
@brett
I had to double check the date.
VSP PICKS:
Sure looking like the only thing w/potential to knock off Kristoff is bad luck. I wanna put Peter Sagan in for strong showing but dang… just all kinds of squirrley mojo with that team and his season right now? Good luck all.
VSP PICKS:
VSP PICKS:
@brett
Speaking of… I don’t recall we saw final build pic’s of yours? I was looking forward to that. But, I guess not enough that I’d go back and read old articles! The frame set is a beauty. Cheers

These picks coming from a crowded tent with the VMH & Velomitoddler on the Victorian surf coast, here’s hoping the holiday park wifi can handle the streaming load!
VSP PICKS:
@wilburrox
They’re coming, don’t you worry! She looks truly Flandrian after today’s Rule #9 ride out to the Kemmelberg…
VSP PICKS:
@Dr C
I reckon you could be right. I’m sure they’ve tested the bejeezus out of it, but GT doesn’t look too confident. That’s a lot of responsibility on such a wee bolt.
@brett will the black flag of Velominati flap in the Vlaanderen wind?
Usual dart throwing picks. I reckon GT has the form if his stupid suspension doesn’t break.
VSP PICKS:
@Pedale.Forchetta
You better believe it my friend! We just put the flag together and are headed to the Gite in a little while!

Need some points after laying an egg last week.

Regarding the Jaeger bike – i’ve been to the factory a few days ago, seen them being welded and spoken to the nice people who make them. The lightest, strongest steel frames I’ve ever seen, with beautiful subtle paint jobs. Four generations of Belgian frame builders there, bikes built for Eddy and Sean Kelly. I’ll be fighting tooth and nail for this one..
